Čeprljanda is the first in a series of hamlets in Ugljan if it moves from the direction of the ferry port in Preko towards Ugljan. It is believed that it is named after the plant that the local population calls "Čeprlj". The plant blooms in spring and is characterized by long thin leaves with a fleshy shoot. The hills of Straža and Mali and Veliki Kuranj towered over Čeprljand, from which a beautiful view of this hamlet, but also the whole town of Ugljan can be seen. Čeprljanda is known for the longest-lasting festival on the island - Čeprljanda festival, which dates back to 1979, and is held on the first Saturday in August.
